The Silent Salute

story2.jpg

Every Memorial Day, Jamie joins her mom at the town square ceremony. She wears her mini camouflage jacket and carries the flag her father gave her.

Jamie doesn't speak much. She doesn't need to. At the end of every ceremony, she steps forward and raises her hand in salute — just like she saw her dad do when he was deployed.

The veterans in attendance always respond with quiet nods and proud salutes. No one told her to do it. She just knew.

Her simple gesture reminds everyone watching: patriotism isn't taught — it's felt, lived, and passed on.
